THE MOST EASIEST FORM TO USE,THE EMAIL FORM

The simple email form is the most used by beginners when they start an awards programs. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, its not very fancy. But it's easy to set up,easy to customize and for a beginner it gets the job done.Plus it better than just saying use the email me banner below and telling them what information to send you.The form will use their email program to send you their information. but you can make sure you get the information you need to make a fair judgement on the sites submitted.

What does the form need to work ?

Well the form will need a way of knowing where to be sent when completed, that your email address written like this in the forms script mailto:YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE

Then the form will need a way of being filled out, that means there is a box for a name,an email address, their website address, name of their website, and in most cases a place to put a description of their website.

There can be other things like what type of bowser is your site best viewed in,or category of your site,or anything you would like to add to your form.

Here is what a basic form will look like on your page.

NAME :

EMAIL:

       WEBSITE NAME:

            WEBSITE URL:

                          DESCRIPTION:

The above sample isn't a live form and won't send me an application it is only for demonstration

CGI  FORMS

If on your website you have access to a cgi-bin and they have an email program on your server to forward the out put of your cgi scripts you can set up your own forms script. It can be a little hard for beginners to set up,I would recommend for beginners to either use the email form or a hosted script one.But if you wish to set up your own script there are a few things you will need to know.  The place where perl is on your sites server, the location of the email scripts or program, and be able to work with html scripting as well.I won't tell you how to set up the script that can be found at the place you get the script from at one of the links below.
