Here is a list of steps to take to submit your site to a search engine.

1. First make sure the page you are submitting has good meta tags,This is very important most search engines use this to place your site also they use the description in the tags in their search engines.
2. Use either a free online submission service or a submission software you can download,that makes it easier to submit your site
3. VERY IMPORTANT  DON'T SPAM THE SEARCH ENGINE !!!!   Only submit the same link once a month,any more times then that can get your link blacklisted from the search engine.
4. When filling out the forms to submit your site ,fill them out completely and make sure everything is correct before you hit the submit button
